How did your ’now husband’ propose?
Alex proposed in New York City! I knew it was would be in 2019 but had no idea that’s where he would have chosen! I had a tight packed schedule that only allowed him to plan like half a morning and even that I nearly planned. We travelled over to Brooklyn Beach where we were the only ones there apart from photographers who were in the right place right time – not planned and they photographed and took a video of it all! I still didn’t expect it until I heard Alex making a little speech and getting down on one knee. We felt on cloud 9 the rest of the holiday!

Wedding dates! When choosing your initial wedding date, was this a sentimental date marking a specific occasion such as an anniversary?
We both knew we wanted to have it in the summer – I’m always cold so had to give me some hope that I would be okay! Originally our wedding date was going to be the last weekend of July but I found out we couldn’t use that weekend so went for the week before. So we went with 24.7.21.. It was the day after we broke up. I work in a school and I wanted to enjoy the whole 6 weeks before going back so I had a few dates to work with! Our meeting anniversary is the 18th July so we get married 6 days after that!

Tell us about your venue/ colour scheme
Having a Greek wedding I had to think about size of venue as originally before covid hit we were going to have a 250 wedding so our venue caterered for 500! Our venue was The Regency Banqueting Suite. Our colour scheme was mainly different shades of pink with hints of green and no wedding planner – all me!

Where did you find your dream dress? Did you do a lot of shopping to find the perfect one?
I think I went to around 10 shops and tried over 30 dresses till I found my dream dress in Best Dress to Impress! I always knew that I wanted a big princess dress with glitter and jewels.. It matches my personality!

Did you have an idea of who you wanted to make your bridesmaids?
Yes I knew I would always have both my sisters and my two best friends as part of my bridal party and then after I met Alex’s sister we hit it off really well so it was a no brainer that she would be part of the gang and over the last few years I have become really close to my godsister so was an easy choice to make! We all had a brunch together! I got their first and made a little bridal party bag which had a card that said will you be my bridesmaids / MOH

What was the most stressful part of wedding planning? What was the most enjoyable?
The most enjoyable part of the planning was my make up trial, cake tasting and dress trying! The most stressful part of planning was the day itself. No I’m joking it was making sure everything was ready for the day.

Your ceremony
Our service was in an Orthodox church in North London called St John’s Baptist. We didn’t have any songs as in an orthodox church it isn’t allowed! Our service was both in English and Greek and we had the traditional crowns that is worn as it symbolises unity.

What were your ‘stand out’ special moments?
My top 3 standout moments are
1. Our choreographed first dance to “A Whole New World”
2. Seeing Alex at the end of the alter
3. Seeing all our family and friends together
Advice for Brides to be
I have 3 pieces of advice!
1. Make sure you confirm timings with vendors
2. Try and get the planning out if the way in the early stages so all you have to focus on is the little things
3. Enjoy the process!
